Adjusting Aspect Ratio for DLNA Content

So I recently connected my Plex media server to this Viera TV, allowing me to broadcast media from my computer, to the TV, over my network. But any footage that is not at a 16:9 ratio does not display correctly.

I have only tested content at 1.85, or greater (e.g., 2.35:1, 2.76:1). Instead of displaying the footage with black borders at the top and bottom, the footage is squished to fit within the 16:9 aspect ratio. I have tried going through the Picture settings, as well as pressing the "Format" button on my remote, but no dice. In the Picture menu, many of the options are greyed out, such as the "Pro" settings, and one where I should be able to select various aspect ratios.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Additional Info: I have a Sony Bravia TV, which displays the same content at the correct, original aspect ratio, with the black borders at the top and bottom.

It looks like your TV resizes the 1920x800 frame to 1920x1080. That's not uncommon. You'll have to add borders to restore the original 1920x1080 frame size and reencode.
